With a Master of Science in Systems Engineering, I have developed processes to make working with me as seamless and easy as possible.

How This Works

Each gallery I deliver is crafted with your business in mind.

As much as I love tech, AI cannot match the human touch to photographs.  Add in the privacy concerns of AI and your imagery, and I firmly believe that private photo editing is worth the investment.

A thoughtful approach to edited galleries

Export your catalog with smart previews built. You will only send the smart previews; no raw images are required. Leave your images and catalog in their original locations.

Step One

Either provide me with anchor images in your catalog or a separate catalog that has at least 50-75 images, where I can see the history and the adjustments made.

Step Two

Make sure to note which images are anchors (by color or stars). Use collections to sort your catalog.

Step three

Build smart previews for your catalog.  This is what I will use to edit from.

Step four

Using the instructions I will provide you, export the catalog as a new catalog. Be sure only to include smart previews to reduce the size of the catalog. Then zip/compress the catalog files.

Step five

Use the upload file button on the provided dashboard page to submit your catalog

Step six

Take a deep, relaxing breath, knowing that your edits are in good hands.

The Process

I work from your exported Lightroom catalog and smart previews. I provide you with a Dropbox link to send me the compressed catalog. You keep your images and catalog in their original location. I do not touch them. Once I complete your edit, you will receive an invoice for the catalog. Once paid, I will send you a Dropbox File Transfer to receive your edited catalog. You will then re-integrate the edits back into your original catalog.

Don't worry, I have a full set of instructions that walk your through this process.

My standard editing includes everything in the Develop Module. If my bandwidth allows, I will also include 1-click AI masking. I have developed my own set of one-click AI masking actions that can cover everything from fake tans, helping to adjust the skin tone, recover the sky, etc.) My rush turnaround times would not include the masking, as even with 1-click actions, adjustments are always required.

I offer advanced retouching, anything not in the Develop Module, for an additional cost. (Local adjustments, advanced skin retouching, brush adjustments, object removal, sky swaps, etc.) Right now, I do not offer head or eye swaps.

When I am done, you will receive an invoice for the catalog. Once paid, I will send you a Dropbox File Transfer to receive your edited catalog.

My standard turnaround time is 2 weeks. It rarely actually takes me two weeks. I only set this as my standard because I am meticulous, and if your catalog has tricky lighting, etc…. I want to give you the best edit I can.

As I learn your style, my edit time will speed up dramatically. After your first season with me (a few catalogs), you can expect 3-5 days for turnaround.

I offer culling services. I charge $0.03 an image when culling is cupped with a catalog edit. I hand-cull, and the process requires me to go through every image, so the cost is on the total number of images in the catalog, not the resulting number of pictures after the cull.

If culling is not part of a catalog edit, but a stand-alone service, I charge a per-hour rate.  Please get in touch with me for a quote.

I do not offer eye or head swaps at this time.

How do you match my editing style? Mine is unique / not flim like. Can you still do it?

I can match any style of editing. It does not have to be film-inspired.

I have 2 methods for learning your style.

  1. My preferred method would be for you to send in your catalog with anchor images that you have edited. Usually, what you send your couples as a sneak peek is all I need. This allows me to study your anchors, the editing history you made to create them, and I can then learn from that how you handle different scenarios.
  2. The second method is for you to send me a catalog of images you edited. This approach is more time-consuming for you, and it will take me longer to learn your style compared to the anchor image method; therefore, I prefer the anchor method.

I Use Presets and Profiles. Will the process still work?

Absolutely, my method will still work.

You will send me your catalog, along with the presets and profiles you utilize. I only use your presets and profiles for your edits, as I am operating as you when I edit your work.

I will provide you with a questionnaire before your first catalog. This questionnaire will help me understand the presets you use for various lighting situations (for example, some people use preset A for ceremonies and preset B for bridal portraits).

How do I know you will have the time for my work?

I only accept a limited number of clients each year. This ensures those with a service agreement have my attention and priority. My goal is to develop a long-term relationship with you.

Once you have a signed service agreement, you have a private link to schedule your catalog editing appointments.  That way, you know I have the capacity to handle your needs.

I am happy to offer a coaching program to teach you editing.  Let's talk so I can determine the best options for your needs.

What if I want to learn to do my own editing?

You will receive an invoice for my services. The invoice is payable via credit card or ACH.  I do not accept checks, money orders or cash.

How do i pay?

No, full payment is not required until catalog delivery.  Only a small deposit will be required up front.

Do I have to pay everything up front?

I am currently offering 50% off your trial catalog.  It includes standard editing, a few local adjustments, and culling for 50% off the standard editing per-image rate.

Do you have any specials for a 1st catalog?

Yes! If you are interested in my 1:1 mentorship on transitioning to an editor, please reach out.  Let's chat!

Do you mentor New Editors?

I've been in photography for 35 years.  My nature photography Facebook account has over 3100 followers.  I've been a wedding photographer and a family photographer.  I get your business.

Why should I trust you with my reputation?

I currently have availability for 1-2 additional clients.  If you are interested, I encourage you to reach out and apply for one of these spots.

Are you accepting new clients?
